Anbhagam means "love home." The organization provides love, family and support to the homeless and abandoned street and slum children of Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Anbhagam believes that students who are coming from these incredibly poor backgrounds are lacking an “address”-- a place to call home, a place to be loved and a history to remember. We work to give this love and "home" to the child. After a loving home, we support children as students, recognizing that education provides youth with the opportunity to understand and work for their human rights.
Every child must be respected, and a child must be treated as a child: supported and loved. But a child must also be seen as full human being, worthy of great respect and human dignity.
